Custom branding swaps Atlas's default look for your own across every public surface — shared interfaces, embedded maps, and password-protected lock screens. Upload a logo, pick a brand colour and an accent colour, and the changes propagate everywhere viewers see your workspace.
Custom branding is a paid feature. On plans without it, the workspace uses Atlas defaults.
Open the Branding settings
In workspace settings (gear icon → side menu), open Branding. The page shows a left-hand controls column and a live preview on the right with two tabs: Shared maps and Password-protected maps.
Only workspace admins and owners can edit branding; regular members see the page in read-only mode with an "Only workspace admins can edit branding customization" notice.
Logo
Upload a workspace logo with the Logo uploader. Supported formats are PNG, JPG, and SVG. The logo appears:
- In the toolbar of shared interfaces.
- On password-protected lock screens (with a fallback to the Atlas logo if none is set).
- On exported maps and reports.
Use the Reset branding to default button at the bottom of the controls column to restore Atlas's default logo and colours in one click.
Brand colour
The Brand colour controls the toolbar background on shared interfaces. Atlas automatically:
- Picks black or white text for the toolbar based on the brand colour's contrast.
- Adjusts hover and active states by darkening or lightening the brand colour.
Click the colour input to open a picker, or paste a hex value directly. Changes save automatically (debounced) and the preview updates in real time.
Accent colour
The Accent colour controls primary buttons, brand icons, focused borders, and the password-screen continue button. Default is #0E58FF.
Like the brand colour, accent colour input accepts hex values and saves automatically. Atlas re-evaluates contrast on every change to keep button text readable.
Live preview
The right-hand preview shows exactly what viewers see, with two tabs:
- Shared maps — preview of a shared interface toolbar with your logo, brand colour applied to the toolbar, and accent colour applied to the Share button.
- Password-protected maps — preview of the password lock screen (logo, accent colour on the Continue button).
Switch between previews while you tune colours so you don't ship a combination that's unreadable on either surface.
Where branding shows up
| Surface | Affected by |
|---|---|
| Shared interface toolbar | Logo, brand colour |
| Embedded interface toolbar | Logo, brand colour (when "Custom branding" is enabled per project — see Interface settings) |
| Password-protected lock screen | Logo, accent colour |
| Map exports (PDF/PNG) | Logo |
| Forms (public submission view) | Logo, accent colour |
The per-project Custom branding toggle in Interface Settings is what controls whether a given project uses the workspace branding on its shared/embedded views. With the toggle off, the project uses Atlas defaults even if branding is configured.
Limits and notes
- Custom branding requires a plan that includes the feature. The toggle in Interface Settings shows an upgrade prompt on lower plans.
- Image uploads are stored in workspace storage; very large images are rejected.
- Branding is workspace-wide — every project in the workspace inherits the same logo and colours.
- Resetting branding to default removes the uploaded logo permanently; re-upload to restore.
