Interface Settings is split into two groups: Project settings that apply to every interface in the project, and Interface settings that apply only to the active interface. Open the settings panel from the gear icon in the Builder editor.
The top of the panel has two shortcuts: Save as template (saves the current interface as a workspace template — paid feature) and Browse templates (opens the template picker).
Project settings
These apply to every interface in the project.
Branding
- Show project title — toggles the project title in the shared header.
- Hide Atlas logo — removes the Atlas logo from embedded and shared views. Paid feature.
- Custom branding — shows your workspace logo and brand colours on shared and embedded views instead of the Atlas defaults. Paid feature. Configure the logo and colours themselves in Custom branding.
Appearance
- Navigation panel colour — the colour of the navigation panel on shared and embedded views. Defaults to your workspace brand colour; pick a custom colour if a particular project needs a different look.
View
- Fullscreen (embeds) — adds an expand button to embedded projects so viewers can open the map in full-window mode.
- Static map — disables panning, zooming, and map interaction. Turns the map into a read-only view for presentations or published pages. Hidden for full-page interfaces since they don't have a map.
Interface settings
These apply only to the active interface.
Icon
Pick the icon shown next to the interface name in the navigation dropdown. Click Change icon to open the icon picker grid.
Tools
Toggle which interactive tools appear in the shared map toolbar. Hidden for full-page interfaces.
- Location search — search bar for finding addresses and places.
- Measure tool — calculate distances and areas (hidden on mobile).
- Map export — download maps as images or PDFs (hidden on mobile, paid feature).
- Find my location — geolocation button to center the map on the viewer's position.
Controls
Toggle map navigation and display controls. Hidden for full-page interfaces.
- Map scale — distance scale bar.
- Zoom controls — plus/minus buttons (hidden on mobile).
- 3D mode — toggle between 2D and 3D terrain view.
- Basemap — let viewers switch between basemap styles (hidden on mobile).
- Projection — let viewers switch between map projections (hidden on mobile).
Variables
User variables enable dynamic content and personalised map experiences. They pair with Forms for pre-filled values.
- Use user variables in this interface — turns variable substitution on for this interface. Disabled if the project has no user variables defined yet.
- Manage user variables — opens the variable manager (name, type, default value).
Danger zone
- Delete interface — permanently removes this interface and its sections, widgets, and configuration. Other interfaces in the project are unaffected. There's no undo, so save the interface as a template first if you might want to restore it.
Setting initial map view and bounds
Initial map position and locked navigation bounds are configured at the project level, not per interface. See Project settings → Set map origin and Lock map bounds for the workflow. The bounds you set there apply to every interface in the project, including embeds.
Save as template
Click Save as template at the top of the settings panel to capture the current interface (sections, widgets, layout, settings) as a reusable template scoped to your workspace. Templates appear in the Browse templates picker for new interfaces. Saving templates is a paid feature; on lower plans, the button shows the upgrade paywall.
