Export PDF

Export maps as PDF files with customizable layouts and enterprise branding

Export your maps as PDF files for presentations, reports, or offline use. The PDF export feature provides professional layouts and customization options.

Need to export the underlying data? To download layer data as GeoJSON, CSV, Shapefile, or other formats, see Download Data.

  1. Look for the Export PDF control in the bottom-left corner of the map
  2. Click the export icon to open the PDF export options
  3. Configure your settings and generate the PDF

Layout Options

Fullscreen Layout

Clean, minimal design focusing entirely on the map

  • No additional elements like legends or scale bars
  • Perfect for presentations or when the map is self-explanatory

Standard Layout

Comprehensive layout including all map elements

  • Legend - Automatically included and customizable. Layers organised into folders appear as collapsible groups in the legend (collapsed by default). Toggle individual folders open or closed before exporting to control which groups are expanded in the PDF.
  • Minimap - Small overview map showing current location
  • Scale bar - Distance reference for the map
  • Description - Custom text field for map context
  • Map title - Editable title for your exported map

Enterprise customers can add their own branding to the exports.

Export Failures

If a PDF export fails, Atlas displays an error message describing the cause (for example, a layer that could not be rendered or a timeout during processing). Use the error details to adjust your export settings — try reducing the map extent, hiding problematic layers, or switching to the Fullscreen layout — then retry the export.
