ClickUp

Connect a ClickUp workspace to import lists as Atlas datasets

Connect ClickUp to Atlas to import lists as datasets. Each task in the list becomes a row, and any custom fields — including location fields — become Atlas columns. Use it to bring tickets, inspections, work orders, or project tasks onto the map.

Generate a ClickUp Personal API token

ClickUp authentication uses a Personal API token:

  1. In ClickUp, go to Settings → Apps.
  2. Generate a Personal API token.
  3. Copy it.

The token gives Atlas read access to the workspaces, spaces, lists, and tasks visible to your ClickUp user.

Connect ClickUp

  1. In Atlas, click Add data in the Layers panel.
  2. Go to the Connections tab.
  3. Select ClickUp.
  4. Paste the Personal API token into the Personal API token field.
  5. Click Validate token. If the token is valid, Atlas confirms by showing your ClickUp user name or email.
  6. Click Connect to ClickUp.

If your account belongs to multiple ClickUp workspaces, Atlas asks you to pick which one to connect. Single-workspace accounts skip this step automatically.

Import lists

Once connected, browse your ClickUp workspaces and lists. Select a list to import as an Atlas dataset.

  • Each task becomes a row.
  • Native ClickUp fields (status, assignees, due dates, time tracking) become columns.
  • Custom fields (text, number, location, dropdown, checkbox, etc.) become matching Atlas column types.
  • ClickUp Location custom fields become geometry, putting the task on the map.

Sync

Connected lists sync automatically. Atlas re-fetches the list on a schedule and updates the dataset when ClickUp changes. Configure sync intervals in Layer Settings.

Permissions and security

  • The Personal API token has the same access as your ClickUp user. If you only want Atlas to see specific lists, create a dedicated ClickUp user, give it limited access, and use that user's token.
  • Tokens are stored encrypted in your workspace's credentials store.
  • Revoke a token any time from ClickUp's Apps settings; the connection in Atlas stops working immediately.

Troubleshooting

IssueSolution
Invalid tokenDouble-check you copied the full token from ClickUp Settings → Apps. Tokens don't expire but can be revoked.
No workspaces foundThe token is valid but the user has no ClickUp workspaces. Add the user to a workspace in ClickUp.
Failed to fetch ClickUp workspacesNetwork or API issue — try again in a minute.
Tasks missing from importClickUp pagination may have hidden them; check that the list filter in ClickUp matches what you expect.
No location on the mapThe list has no Location custom field. Add a Location field in ClickUp and re-sync.
